2 Major things had to be corected

1) the country is called Hellas for over 6000 years not Greece .....

2) Crete is not a seperate counrty to be written in big letters as you had it. Crete is a Hellenic Island for again thousents of years ...

I'm not disputing that fact mate, you are of course correct. But on the map I'm working on I'm quite happy to leave it as it is.. As an allied pilot I'd be working off of 1940's maps all marked in English and the island would be named Crete. Just as the Germans would have named it Kreta..

Thank you for this map, I just tried it, it's nicely done, and not heavy to load at all, very good for online playing.

Cheers

Hey Guys I would like to add this to my QMB. How do I go about doing it. Has anyone done it yet and if so could you post files for us. Thanks

I have it working in QMB+. I Installed the map, then I added the required line in my config.ini, created a simple 4 flights per side mission in FMB+ and saved it as both ItalyAfricaGreeceBlueNone00.mis and
ItalyAfricaGreeceRedNone00.mis and I was able to open and use the map in QMB+. The map is so big however that I may have top make several more such mission sets with similar names and the same map in order to get a good look at the whole thing.

Got a problem at the moment .. can't seem to save a mission from the FMB, when I try to play a mission I thought I'd just saved, it tells me that there is no mission file.. Any ideas chaps?

.... must be static.ini file thing ... please check other maps ( default) and see if they saves ok

please try to save it with default static.ini ( back up yours ) ... get it here :

(The link is inoperative)

I've tested it with FMB and FMB+ before uploading and all went ok ( planes ...ships...vehicles ...)

I'll look into it zo.. but I thought this map didn't have any custom objects, so would it effect the static ini??

Ok.. changed to the default static ini and I can now save and play on this map.. However, I can no longer save and play on canons channel 1940 map.. so it looks like I'm going to have to make a choice, because I just can't get my head around this thing... at the moment the med map is it!
Which is a pity because I like them both.... :?

I could not have said it better, and I can definitely relate. When we built The Slot, the temptation to use custom objects was very high, but after seeing the issues many are having with the Destruction MOD and with any other mod that changes the static.ini to the point where it causes issues with the FMB, I'm glad we avoided it.

I definitely recognize the need for custom objects, but we should put our heads together and figure out a way to do it that makes it easy and reliable for the majority of AAA users. One idea might be to maintain configuration management over the static.ini.

What I mean is, AAA maintains the "current, approved version" of the static.ini. Nothing is added to it without AAA testing and approval, and when you download it you have confidence that it will work with all AAA map MODs, which have also been tested, approved and uploaded by Fly_zo (current policy).

Please recognize that I am trying to be part of the solution here, not part of the problem. Problems that are a lot tougher than this have been solved here, we just need to tackle this one too 8)
