no...I was experimenting ...since I cannot use standard bridges on my map....I'll just have to do as I did at Chiangmai and use a taxiing sand plate or similar...but there are so many roads and rail crossing water that i'll only do the important ones

Thought I'd just add my 5 cents worth - I've had a look, and the map looks really impressive, fred!! Big Grin
I'm having the same save problem that others are, but hopefully that will be sorted out soon, and we can get on with enjoying your map... Big Grin
BTW, this map has been the decider for me: I am officially starting with a Cape of Good Hope/Southern tip of Africa map this week, got one mate helping me, but we estimate about 6 months of work... Cry
It's not a very significant map historically(at least not from an air war perspective), but you could create some convoy missions, or just fly over what promises to be a pretty dramatic map, from a scenic point of view...

Your map sounds like mine.... a work of love....by a resident....no matter whether it was significant in the war or not Big Grin

Fabianfred,

Is there anyway you could do this map with just the 4.09 objects? Your map is truely marvelous and I would love to be able to fly it. I would also love to use all of the other wonderful objects you created for the map, but I would be willing to settle for 4.09 objects if it would mean the map would save. Of course this could just be a temporary beta fix until the rest is figured out (static.ini) and what not.

Please?

Thank you fabianfred. This means a lot to me. By all means though, do not stop developing new items for the map. Once we get this static.ini problem solved, this map will be in all its glory.

Thanks again for your efforts my friend, I appreciate it more than you know.

Fabianfred,

If you would like, we could incorporate new items one by one and I will help you test after each one to try and find the problem. I have clean static.ini with only canon's BoB objects added. Like I said before, I am willing to do whatever it takes to figure this bug out. In doing this, we could at least narrow the possibilities down.

OK this has NO pretty trees...no flags...no modded objects

give it a try... there is a new map_t and map_h ..too ..... backup existing ones into a New folder first

"with normal objects.rar"

from Thai map folder at.....

Downloading and testing now....will report back before bed time.

actually...using the maptools unlocked FMB...it is quite easy to 'turn off' the view of certain types of objects....then select the remaining ones and delete them

so i can quite easily make a new actors static like this one.......but without the mod objects...but still including the flags or the trees etc. ...to try different combinations

Kronstadt plates maybe?

EDIT:

To save another post, leave an idea and I will check it first thing in the morning. Seems your 11 hours ahead of me so it will be like 9:30pm your time. Sorry for living on the oposite side of the glogbe!

The invisible kronstadt plate of mine ....plate 17a...(which actually points to the new invisible tga in the new 1a folder)....(not all invisible as in canon's map) is vital to the airstrips in my map

There have been 52 downloads of this map...... no-one complaining because it is running OK...or cannot get it to work and silently waiting for the final version???
