What are the the correct settings in the config for 5.1 enabled sound, this causes me loads of confusion as nothing seems to give correct 5.1 sounds and im left contantly having to tinker with the ingame settings which seem to do not alot. Please help

I also am having this problem. I just got a 5.1 surround headset and when im in the cockpit the sounds from outside the cockpit overwhelms the engine sound.

yeah its pretty crap, i think IL2 has like a fake 5.1 setup like faux leather lol

I found the fix. I turned off "enable extensions" in ur hardware setup/sound setup/audio.
Now it sound amazing with 5.1.....
