(4.09)Alpha available ...Thailand/Burma/Indochina

Fabianfred I got it. I made it work but it doesn't like other maps. Got the plates, the trees and with your static runs OK. A bit heavy in the Frames thow. But it is logical, its HUGE, and Imean HUGE!. I lov eteh mountains, and the Airfields.. The thing is , that Its either your map running or all of the rest.

The good thing is taht with all teh trail and error now I gto Libya N_E working and I had given up on it too.

I geav e uo on the destruction MOD, becouse I am an FC fan here and cant leave withour his ships . Maybe that is waht makes your Static.ini incompatible with teh rest of my maps.. So yes I am silentlly waiting for the final versions of Libya, Thailand, and the Cnhannel, and praying for tem to use a common Static Ini that will work with every other map, and FC's ships hehe.

Lovelly Job man, I really do love your map, but it is tiresome to have to install a different Static for each map you might want to use. And I am kind of experienced in @dancing@ with files to get things working but theres no way I can base a Squad activity on a non installer- working right off the install Mod with my squad.

glad to hear you got it working OK........ but the ships mod by FC doesn't use the static.ini...only the ships/technics/stationary/chiefs ini's

I can run every map and have every object working from all the other mods.....so why people like to blame my static.ini I cannot see.....lol

never mind...it will all come right one day....someone will find the real reason for the hiccups

It is probably as easy to set-up the use of several different static inis as it is to swap between versions of the mod and unmod 4.08/09.....or to swap from maptools conf/bldconf inis and the normal one

have two static ini folders in your com/maddox/il2/objects folder one marked thai and one marked other........ and have a desktop shortcut to the objects folder......open the one you want....copy and paste into the objects folder

very quick to do really

All I can say is.....

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :OO

The first shot is take off from Rangoon. Shot two is the mountains just over the delta to the east.

This is a wonderful map...even without the new objects!

No, I have not. Perhaps it might be wise to add the new items one at a time to see where the problem originates?

Hi Fred,

First of all installing new map etc for me has been a great learning curve.
Thailand was my first map to install as well as your Thai Fury mission.

When I installed the map at first I could only see it in 3d view.
I tried to save missions etc. but to no avail.

I copyied your static ini into my static ini file and removed the original static ini file of 4.09

I downloaded all your extra mods etc trees, flag invisible airfield plate.

Things I did not do were install the invisable airfield plates in to mods (I just downloaded it to my download file)(forgot to put it in to mods)

I did not have the alternative countries installed either. Your Thai mission came very close to loading but to no avail (it said Thai regiment not found)

NOW YOUR MAP AND MISSION ARE FINALLY WORKING YIP PEE!!!

I'll post some screen shots of a Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai milk run later on today.

So just passing on what happened to me during the install process especially for the new comers to the mods version.

ONCE AGAIN FRED, AN AWESOME MAP!!!!

An unashamed bump here...and request for those who have tried it out....to tell me if you have any suggestions on how to finish it off...

I haven't put any roads or rail in Indo-China yet...not sure if it is necessary

I intend to make the airstrips a little more populated...and maybe the towns a bit more too

any suggestions for any more sea-plane bases? there is just the one ATM at Sattahip

FF,

I love this map. I have made several AVG missions flying from Rangoon already. I have no real problems with this map other than the unpopulated cities. Please remember that I am using the map version that does NOT have any of your custom objects. Other the unpopulated cities, this map is a pure joy and long awaited for me. Being a huge fan of the AVG, this map is just what Ive been wanting.

p.s. It is a shame however that the size limitation wont allow for Kunming....but I am still not complaining. Big Grin

we have many super maps out now, but very few people have bothered to share any of their missions with the rest of us....
if you have a mission you enjoy...then others will probably enjoy it too..

go to my download site...open yourself an account (Free) and start putting your missions there......pretty please

I would be delighted to do this FF, there is only one problem though, the missions I made are co-op. My squad mate Potenz and I have been using the Thailand map online for AVG missions. I suppose I could alter them slightly for single player and upload them. Smile I will need a bit of time though, I am a father of 4 small boys and also attend college so time is at a premium.

Give me a couple days and I will get it done. 8)

p.s. If anyone would like to try their hand at online AVG missions using this wonderful map, please feel free to PM either myself or Potenz. It sure great to fly thse AVG co-ops over a proper map!

no need to alter co-op missions.....you can run them as single missions to be played by yourself....just select 'Multiplay' ... then Create new server....then Game type Co-op and go to the correct folder 1,2,3 etc.
you then can choose the plane you want to fly just like on-line....... no autopilot or time skip or pause functions though
