well people...
this may sound very very very very very blonde as i am knew to this uploading stuff.
i would like to download campaigns and missions ectr. Do i just save campaigns in to mod folder? or the normal campign folder? and same with missions.
Thanks any help shall be appreciated
The missions/campaigns do not go into the MODS folder. But some missions here at AAA may require a certain MOD, so check the readme.
The mission files go into the [game root directory]\Missions\Single\[xx] directory, whre xx is the two-letter country code of the nation for which you would fly (i.e., DE=Germany, GB=Great Britain, US=US Army, UN=US Navy, etc). Within that country directory there may also be subdirectories that sort missions by aircraft or other criteria.
The campaign files go into the [game root directory]\Missions\Campaign\[xx] directory, whre xx is the two-letter country code of the nation for which you would fly (i.e., DE=Germany, GB=Great Britain, US=US Army, UN=US Navy, etc). Within that country directory there will probably be existing folders that hold the campaign files.
The missions or campaigns that you download may include other files, such as historical skins that the mission designer wants to install with the mission, the readme file in the download will tell you where these files go.
DCG campaigns are a little more complicated; if that is the issue for you let me know and I will run through thaose as well.
"The missions or campaigns that you download may include other files, such as historical skins that the mission designer wants to install with the mission, the readme file in the download will tell you where these files go. "
Thanks for your insight and sharing your knowledge on this subject. But, I have noticed a 'difference' in the instructions supplied ('detailed' to none). From a newbee perspective, there is no 'pattern' to follow. Where do all of the ancillary bits go? How would I know that? I've tried the 'corollary' approach, I probably had a better chance of winning the lottery!
I'm sure after the 100th download and install, I'll look back and wonder how I couldn't have seen the obvious! But for now, the obvious is obscured by the actual! I don't think anyone can give a 'one size fits all' answer, there appear to be too many variables! But try to look at it from 'our' end, nothing but variables!
There seems to be a need for some 'standards' in the community for this. What a pity, someone out there makes a 'killer' mission, and kills it because of a lack of instructions, so that only those with the 'knowledge' can implement it! Everyone loses then! Just my opinion......... and 'opinions' are like..............
Help!
