Selecting single external tanks instead of pairs as load out
#1

I have noticed that we cannot choose some historical options regarding external fuel tanks on some planes.

F4F Wildcat - External Tanks can only be selected in pairs and jettisoned in pairs so you can never configure your plane to take up a single tank. Yes it was historical to only have one external tankl at Guadalcanal.

F4U Corsair - We cannot select to carry a single bomb under an inner wing hard point. We cannot select a single external tank under an inner wing hard point. We cannot choose to select a single bomb and a single external tank under inner wing the hard points. Anytime we select a single bomb it has to be slung on a trapeze. We cannot select two napalm tanks without the inclusion of a single center fuselage external tank (although this can be jettisoned on the ground without damage).

I think the F6F has similar load out problems with the bombs and external tanks.

Is there any way to add these options for load outs on these planes?

Weapon Model/Loadout. No mods of those.

Too bad because it isn't like you are adding new weapons just changing the combinations of existing loadouts.

What about allowing single jettison of tanks when pairs are loaded where to drop both tanks you have to hit the jettison key/button twice?

I, like others have my own views on the WM, DM, FM issue and such. But it does not matter. Its AAA policy and we must follow it. Its keeping order quite well.

There are a lot of incorrect or missing load out combinations, but as stated, weapons modification is not allowed. Personally, I love the Corsair, but the F4U-1 (Corsair I) did not have any external hard points for drop tanks or large bombs. The F4U-1 could be fitted with a small rack under the outer wing panels for a bomb up to 250 pounds (no record of this ever being used in combat). The F4U-1A should only have the centerline hard point for a single tank or bomb. The F4U-1C/-1D should have the option of a drop tank on the port pylon and a 500 or 1000 pound bomb on the starboard pylon or only a drop tank on the port pylon. Lots of things wrong with the Corsair, whoever built the Corsairs for Il2 did not know as much as they thought they knew.
