very good job with this version v3, also your work admit to cross over a " smoke field " with a good visual effect because of the quality of theses smokes .
the fps are ok with normal flak ( not to many flak) , but off course in a mission with 4 ships ( 2 carriers planes of which ) and on the sea , the fps decrease with the time but it 's no more that with version v2 , and with many ship-flaks the immersion is very good because around you the sky is blazed !!!
and also is the reason for that the dimension of explosion is good , I thing .

just a question : have you increase the distance of visibility ?

HI guys

thx for your interest and opinion . I working on "Litever(or next ver)." on increase FPS waiting pls week I need time for test. Vill be resize texture edit any value etc, but no degrade quality of effects .

My HWare PC is :
VGA nVidia7600GT AGP
CPU old ATHLON 32bit 2,3GHz
DDR2 1GB
settings for IL2:excelent
I have average FPS in game 18-30 FPS (per maps,weather.....etc)
If you have better HW you np.

Live time is 600s in v3.Settings is in file Zenitka/USSR_85/SmokeBoiling.eff open in notepad,find Livetime.
BUT I vill decrease this value on 1-2min in next version because more clouds over battlefield mostly decrease FPS. Originaly clouds have live time only 5s. Short time for Blackclouds is good for more heavy flaks or more ships on small place. Ver3 have good settings for online because good maps havenot this place. I have to do compromise between online-offline flying-performance to FPS-quality of effect. Hmmm... difficult Big Grin
visibility clouds- I can not to set in effect .Patch 4.08 have small visibility buble(restrict)someone has done MOD on it seek in forum.In Patch 4.09 to enable increase visibility but not in Flak files.

In v3 has been increase visibility flaks from value 5000 on 8000. In next version I not be edit this value . In real not see small cloud(6-20m) in the distance 8km.

My idea for ideal Flak (realy in night) still include strong- short FLASH - Light-blindness- how from serchlight or sun. I have only 6s color movie where Flaks fire on B17 and their explosions in night. My research continue Big Grin .

Yes. See my answer for Letchik - "LiveTime" for clouds.
Open in Folder USSR_85 (for all heavy Flak)/SmokeBoiling.eff in notepad.Find line "LiveTime" and edit value . It is time in sec.

Is this kind of smoke supposed to appear?Everywhere? Lol
Am i missing something?
Had some problems with this MOD before anyway.

Installed v.1 ,followed instructions nothing happened.

Installed v.2 ,followed instructions nothing happened again.

Installed v.3 ,followed instructions no big explosion , no black smoke ,just some weird smoke that appears in flaks, crashed planes and wheels dust when moving on ground

Installed v.4 ,followed instructions and same thing as v.3 lol

1- you need not instal all ver. only last ver4.Delete previous ver.
2- ver.1 you probably bad install if nothing happened(need create folder with own name,etc)
3- If you bad delete ver.1(folders,files) and install next ver.2-4 ,could by done duplicate of files.
4- ver 1 was trouble with " destruction MOD" see on page 2 . Ver.2-4 have not probl.with installation and any MODs.

In Your pictures is use my texture for Flak cloud in explosion bomb, or in smoke shipgun, smoke wheels (gear takeoff).I check it.You have True.These all objects use equivalent texture SmokeA.tga.

I have fix on it. No Probl. Now will be load my texture only Flak clouds. Smokes vill be have old orig.texture SmokeA.tga. It is only small irrelevant bug but thx for attention

Next week vill be download. Sorry tomorrow Im leaving on holiday.

When this fix is done I will reinstall your mod again. I uninstalled it because all smokes were ugly with it, just like the images above show.
