Okay, everyone was saying how patch 4.09 is worth it and stuff like that, so i decided to give it a go. I just googled the patch and found a website to download it from. I unzipped the patch to my il2 1946 directory and it said that i need to overwrite a few things. I select 'Yes to all'. After this happened, i ran the game and noticed it was still 4.08, so i tried deleting all of the files of 4.09 and re installing it. I did this the exact same way and it came up with 4.09. When i first ran this version of the game, it crashed on loading and i had to restart twice. The 3rd time i tried, i got on to it, hooray! But then i noticed that i had no new maps and stuff like that. And i when i uninstalled Il2 1946, and re-installed it, even though the patches were in the directory and i deleted it, they were there when i re installed!

So now i am going to try and re-patch 4.08 and start afresh, so i need some help on what to do!

That doesnt tell me on how to solve the problem of deleting all the patches and re-patching, cos i dunno how to get rid of them.

Hi Dragon22876- best was to make a backup of your original 1946 install. But fear not all is not lost if you did not: I have found that reinstalling the Wrapper over what is already there helpful.

If you do already have a hosed install I feel that it is likely salvagable. Just reinstall over what you already have- I get the impression it is a matter of the ORDER of which you install things, it is just a matter of getting the right combination.

I get the impression that trouble-shooting mods is still in evolution, so go at it until you have something that works.

Also- once you get an install that does what you want it to, please remember to archive it so future installs won't mess you up.
