Hi folks:

New fella here.

I'm trying to get this stuff to work and have run into problems. I downloaded all_ini_static.ini.rar to put all.ini into 'IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\' and static.ini into 'MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\'. Well, how can I extract these. I get the popup telling me Windows can't open this file and to find the appropriate software on the web. I go there and find I have to buy it.

I've also tried this other mod downloads. Do I really need to buy this software?

Thanks for the help and I look forward to not only using these mods but perhaps someday making such things as maps.

Ok, I've saved the file to desktop, what do I do with it now? Where should I place it and how do I run it?

Errr... Open the file, click 'Install' and then click 'OK' and 'YES' whenever they should pop up in the installation. At the end, IIRC, click 'Finish'. Then you will be able to open the .rar files you downloaded earlier.
