P51 landing light problems
#1

Flew a night mission with a P51. Its landing light was buried inside its wing. ???
Also, the spot on the ground is positioned so that the cowling of the aircraft obscures it.
Is this realistic? Shouldn't it be 'higher', in front, more to light up the runway?

The landing light is attached to the undercart, and comes down with the undercart.. thus why it was 'buried in the wing' - this is how it is in real life on P-51's.

Having done a fair bit of night flying for real, I can tell you quite frankly, the landing light isn't a headlight designed for lighting up the road in front... It simply doesn't work like that

I've flown too, but in Cessna's. Its just that nothing in front is lit. It helps a little around the sides though. If its accurate, that's all I care about. Just wanted to be sure since it definitely isn't a Cessna.
