The first thing you need to get is IL2 Sturmovik 1946.

It appears, from your post, that you have a version that does not include the addons required to use the mods from AAA.

There have been 3 additions to the game you have and these and all other IL2 content are in the 1946 package which is available on DVD or as a download from Ubisoft.

Your load screen will still be in Russian but campaigns in English.

From the link you referred to.:

The next steps (4A AND B) will fix the problem of Campaigns showing up in Russian language:
4A: Go here (The link is inoperative) and get this: DOWNLOAD > English_Career_Language_Fix.rar

4B:Open the file and drag the DGen folder into your main 1946 install folder and let it overwrite when asked.
This will fix the campaign issue but the load screen is still in Russian, for now let's leave it that way, I will point to the fix later.

Please DO NOT SKIP the next step, it will make sure all is going well.

5: Run game. The load screen is Russian and shows ver 4.08m. Click Pilot career to make sure it is in English. If not, go back and read instructions very carefully.

If you do what is stated above your game should be in English.

The load screen will still be in Russian but in game should be English.

open your dgen folder and make sure there is not another dgen folder inside it.

If there is a dgen folder inside your dgen folder, move the contents from it into the main dgen folder.
