Hello!

I have a strange problem, one that does not seem to be the same as other game freeze problems i read about on this forum, that's why i'm starting this thread.

After tyring out textures for mods and cockpit repaints, I've tried playing the game for over 10 mins and it always freezes the computer and I need to do a restart. The strange thing is that il2 works on-line, but doesnt want to play off-line more than 10 minutes. another problem is WHEN i play on-line, the computer crashes one time, and after a reboot I can play for hours without problems, what causes this one time crash in on line mode (i'm so used to it now so I reboot the computer before playing il2 on line) and what could cause the 10 min border off line? I feel like I'm playing a demo or something here

I've vacumed computer, cleared scratch disks, checked both my graphics cards, fans are working. the thing is I think i've had the same problem on the computer I had before this one, so it must be some Il2 setting or graphic setting?

I'm thankful for any help! working on il2 mods is getting a pain in the ass with this handicap.

I had found, in the order of installing mods, you must install the latest verion of both aicraft installer and mod activator to help stop these types of problems. Only way to be sure is to re-install those to items with the latest of each.

I'm having the same problem as well. The game freezes after playing a few minutes, the whole computer locks up. It just began happening. I've had a time figuring out what might have caused the problem. I've been fooling around with other games and changing my ATI catalyst settings so often, I lost track. Sorry that I can't help, but I feel your pain.

What's yours computer spec's?

Do you have the latest official graphics drivers (Not Beta)?

Do you have ant-virus & firewall installed?

Have you updated windows lately?

What mod version do you have installed?

Do you have the same problem with no mods installed?

Dose this happen with any other games or software?

happened with my older PC, seemed like the Windows was corrupt and the Processor was overheating like hell

I'd say check the heat on your CPU or Video card.

I have had this problem on this computer long before mods. I think its just heat. Or bad Ram. Its not the mods. I'm going to migrate my new computer thankfully.

I reinstalled windows, this problem still exists. I RMAed a video card from 7800 GT to 8800 GTS so I don't think its a driver issue. It happens with quite a few games.. CFS3, Far Cry, you name it. Soeldner is fine though even though it used to lock. Not any more. Can play that endlessly.

Anyway, this was always a problem for me. Too laZy to switch out the RAM, Just going to move to a new computer with 8 gig of RAm and quad 3.0.


I would say it comes on more in hotter weather but it hasn't been cold for a while here in Los Angeles. 8)
