Trying it again. Searching my colours, my light... I know what I want. The problem is... well, you know.

IMHO, this is a good image, Willy. With a little bit more tweaking, I think it can become a GREAT image. I think I see where you are going with this one so I'd like to offer some ideas for your consideration, M8 :!: 
1) Add stong shadows on the leading edges of the wings which transition, in a gradient. to blend with the top of the wing. Why? Because the light source is such that the leading edges would be in shadow. Also, that sort of treatment will make the wings more 3D. How? Well, that type of treatment will define a curve to the front of the wings. :wink:
2) Do the same with the horizontal stabilizers for exactly the same reasons.
3) Add a heavy shadow under the near horizontal stabilizer appropriate for the direction from which the light is coming. Why? Because there would naturally be a shadow there and a well-defined one too!
4) Make the rear fuselage progessively darker near the underside. Why? Because with top lighting, the light on the underside of the fuse would naturally fall off toward the bottom of the fuse.
5) Darken the pylon under the wing. With top lighting, anything under the wing would be in the shadow of the wing.
6) Darken the area under the front end as the light would naturally fall off there as well. As with most of the other areas, you would want a little gradient rather than a sudden and sharp line of shadow.
7) Move the lens flare higher up on the canopy, if you are going to use lens flare. You might consider not using it at all.
8) Carry the highlight all the way to the front of the cowling and then have it drop off as it "turns the corner", falling away from the light. The prop arc is there so you could have the highlight be a little less light to help suggest a spinning prop.
I'm going to stop here as I think what I've said conveys the concept. I'm sure that you've gotten the idea. Mess around with it, if you choose to, and see if you like it. IMHO, this image is basically so good that it would be a shame not to have another little whirl with it. :wink:

Wow, some major veiwage on this one Wilhelm and I can see why, the lighting is beautiful 
I would concur with FB's mild suggestions for improvement on it though, as FB says its a wonderful pic, but it could be something more with minor alteration
