High level bombing class. New Manual released.

A lot of people have lost interest mainly due to a crappy gathering time. PM when whenever you guys are available and I will work with you one on one. We are operation out of another ts IP.
When: LET ME KNOW
Where: teamspeak IP--> PM for IP
Things to bring: MODs especially for the B-17. Also bring plenty of patients.
-And for those of you that want to learn how to use the bombsight download and install
this program, it's not very big, only a few megabites. It will over lap your game when
you start it and you can hide the window by pressing shift+pause/break and press it
again to bring it back up. http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ow&kid=337

FYI: Heres the link for old 666 b-17 video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO-u2nE_Cjw

And here's the link for irons bombing instruction video http://files.filefront.com/level+bombin ... einfo.html

I'll be there, and I'll supply the server.

This will be good practice for bomber night, check that thread for updates, there will be some updates very soon on that.

Ok well just to be clear there will probably be a lot more teaching then bombing, so if you could fly us in b-17s rather than b-24s that would be perfect because the b-17 is a much more stable platform especially in formation. Also eliminate the flack, or we can just not fly over it untill we work out formation.

Not a problem, I'll just host a blank dogfight map, that way, it's possible to hit refly if something happens, and we can just target the town itself, no reason to have lots of targets in the town, eh?

Hi gents,

Great idea... only snag for me personally speaking, is the Time Zone difference! Living over the pond in the UK.

I'm +5hrs or so ahead of you guys in the USA. Sad That would be around 1am in the morning!
Anyway if I'm still awake... Smile I'll pop in to your TS server for a chat.

Cheers,

G'day Fellas,

Excellent idea. I am a confirmed bomber enthuiast (read as freak) as I have a CH Throttle Quadrant, rudder pedals and Dual handle flight control yoke, I am up for the challenge.

Just one small problem, I am about 10 hours or so ahead being in Australia. Hopefully we can set something up for weekends where late night flying isnt an impost.

PM me for further info as it develops and I can wrangle a few more interested parties if required.

Great idea.

One question, what sort of server will be hosting, private, coop or dogfight?

Cheer and beers

Please bring as many people as you can find that are interested, articviper had agreed to host and i'll give out the ip when we are all gathered on the teamspeak. We would bomb in AAA but there are too many people in there that would shoot us down and make training very difficult. But after we get formation down we can practice our gunnery in AAA.

The server will be hosting what's required.

I have a mission with some B-24's getting intercepted by various aircraft, we could use that for gunnery practice, and only man the gunners of the planes (so the A/C are AI controlled)

The setting will be dogfight for the time being, due to the fact that accidents do happen, and we don't want to waste time on resetting every time someone messes up their takeoff/landing/formation collisions etc.

we can also use the DF map for gunnery practice, with a few of us just buzzing the bombers in fighters not firing, to lighten the stress factor of the gunners, and to make it a more stable gunplatform. This can be escalated to full on intercepts at a later stage if need be.

The thing with going into AAA as 6-?? players is that the teams tend to balance in numbers, not in type of A/C, so there will be more enemy fighters than friendly, meaning that the point hungry people will all go for us... I'm more inclined to have more controlled conditions to practice gunnery for this first training session

All is well, but anyone who doesn't cooperate we can just get rid of them.

Bomber night was a complete success. After practicing formation we all went over to the AAA server. I think everyone had a lot of fun because we fought our way in to drop bombs then fought our way back out. Same time next week guys but different teamspeak. 202.125.45.59:8767 PW bacon

I wouldlike to point out that the TS given above is shared between the 809th Raging Peckers (a small IL2 clan of only about 4 people) and the Australasian Battle Group (a much larger Armed Assault clan). TS hosting is kindly provided to the 809th by the ABG.
If you are using this TS please confine yourselves to the 809th areas only. Don't expect compassion if you get your asses handed to you by pissed off ABG admin for using the wrong areas. Theyre a good bunch of guys and will fairly warn you first, but just a heads up.

I heard that all the guys got banned from that TS yesterday for swearing??... is that true?

I run a teamspeak server, and if that's the way people operate that server then I'll happily take all that got banned under my wings.

I'm not going to let anything get in the way of the project that myself and A10 have started, namely making this a regular thing.

It was a great success and the bombing run we had subsequently in aaa was a great laugh as the enemy tried to intercept us at 6-8000 meters. I flew Escort duty, and chased away 6 fighters and shot down 2 others in my P-51C-NA. 4 of 7 bombers made it home, which I'm proud of.

This will be re-run on a regular basis and practice sessions will be announced here.

Yeah I don't understand what got in PC docs ass. He just came in and pretty much told us he didn't like our language and banned us. This makes no sense because if he doesn't want to hear our language then why the hell would he drop by and listen?!. In the heat of the moment when we are fighting our way in and out from target the swear words are going to be off the flipping hook on the teamspeak because of the intense fighting the bombers are doing to shoot them off.

Oh, yeah and thanks for the comment Hans von Ohain we really tried that night.

And viper we need a teamspeak that will be up 24hrs a day.
