I dont know the hows or whys But I tried using the installer created by Uther and it has solved my problems. Thanks to all who have tried to help in this issue its guys like you that keep this place alive.

The problem is of course, that although people are finding fixes and getting to use the maps, we often still don't know what caused the problem in the first place.......maybe we know generally....but not specifically :?

are we approaching some saturation point with the static.ini's?

I cannot for the life of me understand how a static.ini like mine, with just about every object made by the community and myself included in it, can cause problems.

Surely having more ingredients in the larder than the cake requires cannot be a problem....it is a cake which needs ingredients which are not in the larder that is the problem... Confusedhock: :?

Reflected reported the header character in "all.ini" seemed to be the only difference in his "fixed" install

Well it just so happens I have a backup of IL2 before I got my channel map problem fixed and both all.ini files are identicle.

So where do I copy & paste all of this?
MODS/MAPMODS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/static.ini ...? If the map already works should I bother?

This file enabled me to save missions but the only objects visible in the map were canons custom objects. (For example Maidstone didnt have a single building) I should also point out that this is the only static.ini that has enabled me to save missions. A second static.ini from Fabian fred wouldnt let me save.
Now this morning I saw a default static.ini had been released so I downloaded that and following the instructions added the lines needed for this map. I then replaced ther above static.ini with this one.

At this point I was going to include the static.ini file I made but it was too long. anyway it consisted of the default static.ini posted this morning with the additional lines needed for the channel map (ncluding blister entry)

Now I am back to being unable to save a mission on the map. What is the difference between the two static.inis that would prevent me from saving a mission when using the second one?
Yes its all to easy to say wait for the final version, but the fact that I am having these problems while others are not would tend to suggest there is a problem with my setup which is why I want to eradicate this problem now.
I hope someone can get to the bottom of this and solve the problem and thanks to everyone who is already trying. I am sure I am not the only one who is waiting for a solution to this problem

If you've got the map working mate don't bother. Killerwatt just had a problem with his that's all. :wink:
