If you want to run new games like RoF or COD or crysis 2 and so on, NO!
Unless you like playing at low settings.
But for older games or lite gaming it would be fine.
Deutschmark
I would recommend an AMD Phenom II X2 Black edition (from 3Ghz - 3.7Ghz)
I currently am using the 560 BE and i run CoD on Medium to High settings at
a resolution of 720p (only coz my gfx card is crap) This chip is still under $80
i think but you'd have to have a look around to find the best deals.
Hope you like

Rad,
That chip will be just fine for IL-2 and work decent for the other games mentioned. (Sorry Deutschmark).
You need to ensure that your M/B is an AM3 or AM3+ though.
If you do have an AM3+ compatible board, I'd save your money and look at the new AMD Fx series chips (8 core).
They were just released last month (Finally) and retail between $250.00 and $300.
My new system is running CLOD at max settings with over 75fps now. Granted I had to spend some cash to do it, but at least now I'm ready for when they get the darn thing working correctly.
