Move the map to edge of widescreen?
#1

Hi Guys,

These mods have given new life to an old (ish) game.

1 thing I would really love is for someone to work out how to move the map to the edge of the screen again when using widescreen ( eg. 1680x1050)

Also as I'm not a FMB tinkerer, some more QMB missions for the new maps as they are released would be great.

I would learn how to do it if the day had a few more hours in it. Smile

Cheers Mates,

The Toasted One.

Try this too. It's a beaut Smile

(The link is inoperative)

Moves the hud text to the edges of the screen where they aught to be. You can still drag the map around using two mouse buttons as well.

No kidding;

Fireball Wrote:NOTE: I temporarily took this mod down to check a possible problem with it. I hope to have it reposted tonight.

This mod changes the way the mouse buttons work on the in-game minimap, and also the map on the briefing page.

- Click left button zooms in.
- Click right button zooms out.
- Click and hold middle button (normally by pressing the scroll wheel) lets you move the map around.
- Click and hold both left and right buttons lets you reposition the entire map frame on your display.
This applies to the in-game minimap only, and is unchanged from the un-modded behavior.

The filename is MiniMap_b1.rar and is available here: (Temporarily unavailable)

To install, extract the MiniMap_b1 folder in the rar file to the MODS folder in your IL-2 1946 game folder.

Thanks for testing it out. Let me know how it works for you.

In WS you cannot move the map to the edge of the screen.

Map disappears when the 4:3 limit is reached.

There were a French mod to solve this... although you lose the upper messages. (HUD)

I've moved it quite comfortably to the edge

At what resolution do you play? Probably 1280*1024. close to the 1280*960 (one of the original game resolutions)

At 1680*1050 or 1920*1200 I ensure you cannot move the map to the screen edge. PArt of map, disappears arriving at certain point.
