i believe Prodigy showed some intention for making such a map .... i'm not sure what happened, though

but if someone steps in and make one ..... it would be greatly appreciated

Would be nice if someone make a ETO map in 1:3 or 1:4 scale (as the ItalyAfricaGreece map for example) covering a portion of Britain, northern France and Germany for bombing missions.

1:1 maps covering large areas of terrain are great in theory, but experience has shown they do not fare well with the majority of the IL2 community. The primary reason is flight times to-from the target. They also require computer resources which the majority of the community do not possess. When you are talking about an area as heavily populated as the ETO, you begin to realize that populating 1:1 maps of that scale is simply impractical.

Life is all about compromises, as we found out during construction of The Slot.

You're right Sir.
Life is compromise. So better a 1:1 Germany with only few cities and major airports than a 1:3 one full of cities, airports and so on.
But it's a point of view, that's for sure.
