music during flight
#1

hello,

I'm back with another question.
to listen songs during the flight( takeoff and crashes also, but I'm not really interested in this two short moments...) you must copy in the il-2sturmovik1946/samples/inflight(also takeoff and crash...) music in mpeg format...but mpeg format is the same as wma or mp3... or any of this two?

I've tried with both( mp3 and wma) but also I've tried switching on and off the option of music during flights, it doesn't play any music...

what's my mistake?Confusedhock:

thanks

PD: as the first time: I'm not an english language person...sorry for my poor english

Hi Greg
It will only work with a wave (.wav) file, not with mp3 or wma...

Mmmm i have some kind of compression problem too ...

I've imported some song from SilentHunter3 american swings ... using the basic creative audio converter utility: just changed the level of the audio and saved as a .wav file

It does play a little during the game but after 10-12 seconds of playing it just restart suddenly ... never going on all the way the song should be ...

Zoe can u explain better how to mantain the mp3 compression but saved as .wav file ?

ok, so, only wav and someones from silent hunter3( great game and simulator, I have it and is amazing, also it's quite old Big Grin )

now I'm waiting for an encoder( a program that convert my wma and mp3 files to wav...) if it works properly, I'll say the url...( I'm not sure if it will work well, so...)

thanks

when saving your wave file in some editor make sure that you chose ACM waveform and in it's settings set compression as mp3 192 or less Kbps . Best way is to load one of default files and look for its properties then save your file accordingly .

Just copy/past files wont work i'm afraid ....

well, I have converted two mp3 files to wav( and I've tried with 2 diferent converters...) but when I'm inflight the game only plays some seconds( less than a half of a minut)... I've played it with a player and the file contains all the song...

what I'm doing wrong?

thanks

do their properties match default ones ( as displayed in pic above) ?

you can't just convert mp3 to wav ...... you need to convert it as ACM waveform so mp3 compression stays

hmm
if you want music randomizable and already existing check this out
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ls&id=2051
and here
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&c=570

here's the easiest way to add your own music
you need to start with an mp3.

The sound files must be in the 11025 Hz, Mono, 16-bit format

do a search for CDEX on the web... it's free
open CDEX and click convert and select add RIFF-WAV header to Mp2 or MP3 file.

navigate to your mp3 (or better yet a copy of it)
select convert, and when done place that converted file into one of the folders.

if you want to randomize the play order see
above link

sorry, but I'm not able to play music during game...in fact, now I simply can listen the music theme of the nation... the same as in the main menus...

so I think that I will play using an avrack or another one but no the wmp because I think that it is to heavy to use it and play at the same time
