I cannot test the flight model because my joystick just went in the crapper.

I can tell this much so far:

Ease of download - superb

New cowling - superb

Overall 3D model - superb

aircraft skin - superb

Cockpit - superb

Gunsight - superb

So far, this FW190A-3 exceeds expectations and is a real professional quality job. I'm very impressed with everything from the complete simplicity of the download to the excellent 3D work - especially the cowling.

I can't wait to test the FM as soon as I get a new stick. From what I've seen so far, I can almost weep for the Spitfire drivers.

I have been waiting for this mod and truely appreciate the work done by all involved.
Unfortunately I am having serious issues after installing .

After installing exactly as described (I downloaded wrapper, installer 2.8, and ver 1.2 to make sure I had all the latest files) IL2 loaded up in 640x480 all settings reverted to default (ie no sound, no joystick configured, etc.) I quickly changed video settings to my default 1024x768x32 and activated the joystick. I was able to load up 190A3 in quick mission and shoot down a spitVb this is when I noticed that sound was off. After turning on sound I decided to load up the new 190 in FMB with Bof map. In FMB no maps exist. Only exit is available as a choice and that does not function. I had to manually force to desktop and end task to exit il2. Last thing I noticed was that mouse pointer stays as windows default. It does not change to the yellowish orange default il2 mouse pointer.

I have removed using the uninstall tool but issues remain with setting (remedied by changing conf.ini to read only). FMB still shows no maps even though mapmods folder and all.ini are unchanegd and contain all files and appropriate configuration. Buttons file only exists in one location and matches directory as described in post #1.

Even after re-downloading all files wrapper, installer, and ver1.2 and installing issues still persist. Uninstall also does not resolve.

Lastly I am running with the mod activator

Issue resolved. Apparently one of the 3 files (I'm thinking Aircraft Installer 2.8 ) completely crapped out my conf.ini. After reloading my default back up all is fine.

One question to the FM and aircraft experts. If starting from a same energy state could a Spit Vb 1942 stay with/gain on the 190A3 in a power dive? Quick unofficial non scientific AI piloted spitfire test show that it is no problem below 4000 m.


Again thanks to all the modders involved I actually enjoy flying the 190 now. I thought it would be impossible to get me out of the 109.

That model really does justice to the Wurger. The original model in the game wasn't bad but your new FW190 makes it clear that it wasn't great either. The new engine cowl makes a huge difference.

No chance sadly. Even the spit IX could not follow, but the differece was not so big anymore.

Yes there will be more skins. Even a template. There are little parts i the template that where not mine. But I have modified them. So I have to asked for the copyright. I hope there will be o problems.

However a Q first, I'm running the AAA unified installer and I don't want to wreck it since it works like a charm
