DOWNLOAD:
file=Fly_zo/Kt_channel_v1.exe (The link is inoperative)
It is only for 4.09 beta, because of Slovakia objects. There is only 1 airfield/side. Few railroads and roads. Beatifull landscape with nice towns and villages to destroy  . This not real BOB map, but at least there is channel and western european landscape.

KT_Channel and mission generators:

You can replace original \Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\net8islands
with this map.
Then you can use mission generators like Uberdemons Misission generator, Mission Mate,
IL2 Quick mission builder and even Lowengrins DCG.

Instructions:

1. Back up original net8islands folder.
(You can just rename it to ;net8islands or cut/paste it to somewhere else)
2. Rename Kt_channel folder to net8islands.
Launch IL2 and QMB (quick mission builder) and select planes and pacific islands as map
and you should be flying over European style channel!

Happy flying!

MISSION MATE + 5.0 WIP INCLUDES NOW Kt_channel and its so far only modded map that is fully functional!
QUOTE FROM Mr. Grazy Schmids read me:

Here is a new W.I.P update for download:
Download:
file=Fly_zo/MM_PlusWIP2.zip (The link is inoperative)

This update includes 5 new mod maps and also the MKI Spitfire and the Beau10:
The Maps:-
kt_Channel
Malta
Falklands
Sardegna
The Slot

Also included are the MTO, Bessarabia and Slovakia maps for those that may not have those maps already.

Please note that at this stage the only map that is fully functional is kt_Channel, the other maps have take off and landing points set but no airbase population or vehicle attack scenarios have been coded.

All aircraft and naval waypoints functionality is working so it will be possible to have shipping attack scenarios running at this stage.

How To Use This Download.
You will need to have a full copy of Mission Mate installed already, if you do not I suggest downloading the latest official release from M4T and installing that first.

From the zip file, place all the map files into the "maps" folder of your current Mission Mate installation set.

Place the Mission Mate exe file into the same folder as your current one.

Also note that there is now a separate maps selection list for mod maps if desired.

That should be it, if anyone has any problems just let me know and I will help out where I can.

Cheers, CrazySchmidt.
Happy hunting

kapteeni,
BRILLIANT remake! One of the first maps I downloaded was your kt_eastafrica map. You continue to make high quality maps. Bless you for adding a pair of short line railroads!

Question:
Is there any way to make this a separate map rather than a remake of net8islands? Or possibly having it overwrite the Online8Islands which is the same map but with different forest meshes? This was the first "Pacific Islands" map that caused some serious lag issues when Pacific Fighters was first released.
I ask because I have several co-op mission using the default Pacific Islands and would rather not use Online8Isalnds as these missions are heavily populated and do not want to re-introduce the lag issue. Actually my preference would be for a new, separate map much like what HB did with their Extended Pacific Islands.

Either way it's a great map. Thanks for all your hard work.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out that it IS a separate map and what you were speaking of was for using it in the QMB and/or Mission Mate. DOH! :o

BTW, this makes one hella BoB DF Map!
