I asked the squad C/O that i fly with why they dont use 409bm ? the answer i got was a tad confusing when i see all the lovely maps and mods on this site and how much work goes into them...

They said, it was because there are no dedicated server files for 409bm. :o
Now i know how much work goes into building the modifications and dont see that creating the server files would be any more difficult.
So... could someone please explain to me why this has not been looked into yet ?
This is obviously a well needed mod.

It is a bit annoying, especially since it has made my mod activator work overtime switching 409b1m off everytime I fly on hyperlobby (and then back on when I fly with my squadron).

If it's an online squad though, you can still host coop and dogfight maps with 409b1m and it runs no differently to 408m. My group II./JG53 have been flying wih selected mods and 409b1m for a few months now with no issues (if anything, less issues).

Just a pain though dedicated servers don't have a patch, 409b1m is great.

That's the problem, they run everything through the dedicated server setup so 409 cant be an option for them ( which means not being able to use the 409 maps from here). which is a real shame because there are many fantastic maps that we would love to use.

what do you mean with soon on dedicated server 4.09b is there anything coming to hack the didicated server?

Yeb. Server is tested and will be released soon. This means:

Original game players (like Queensland) can now jump on 4.09b and fly it o a server, that is 24/7 available. They still can use check runtime 2 and protect themself against cheaters.

On the other handside the modders now can fly their stuff on a dedi server. They also can use CRT=2. This means we all have to fly with one mod version.

And here we can offer a new unified mod installer too. Triple A has the biggest community and most mods are released on this side in a high quality. We also are able to offer a patch to a lot of pilots. We do not want to make this for our own ego. It is this "by the community for the community" feeling like in our german sturmovik.de family.

In the long run I whould like to see a professional continuation of IL-2. The people are working with passion here and we reached every target we aimed. So everything is possible.

lol, after what i have seen here, i have much faith in AAA, and i am a very patient man also

unfortunately some people like to make fun of others by making postings about timings that they don't know jack about.

I have not been here long so i don't know who is who yet, but as a padwan does, i will learn lol.

Then it is perhaps best to keep such comments about who knows about jack, to yourself till you figure it out. Hellzone is the one who was the driving force behind it. Release times are tricky considering the staff here are from all over the world and must coordinate these things.

ok, lesson learned and apologies to hellzone , but maybe another can be learned by not saying unless something is certain. :wink: a simple not sure but soon may have been better?

remember what it was like on ubi site when someone said something would be released and it was not.
