well i love the pacific so mostly pacific equipment that i have wanted to see in game
new A6M versions ( already started on the A6M3-32 carrier version), Replacing the wing tanks in the A6M2 for the original behind the engine tank, fitting co2 to the A6M5, new armaments for Japanese bombers including more powerful torps and generally adding the little touches that are missing from the Zero's.

same here, though it seems we're adversairies. I haven't made any mods yet but I had the exact same Impression, expecially because I decided to install all the mods I could find that looked good, then fly it all at once! BAM!!! thought BOB had somehow arrived early and was sitting in my computer!!

Anyway. Perhaps we could do a joint project some time for more pacific stuff.

Any Ideas in specific you have?
Maybe new ground objects etc?

Sakai, I do not know how good a plane maker you are (or planning to become) but We could definitely need some late war japanese stuff like a Kikka or a Shinden or a Reppu!

the subject was already vrought up but these planes are mostly left aside by europe oriented Modders.

Well , i am no expert but it is something i enjoy, i have read through the many Japanese plane requests and have seen what people here are asking for, i have made the A6M3 -32 hamp but need someone to sort the class files so i can test it in my game and make model adjustments as required, but alas, it looks like it maybe some time before this will happen. so i will continue with some more projects and see what happens in the future.

I have noticed how many new planes are available, but i think this is due to the fact that they are just remodeled existing planes, not brand new ones ( this take much less time to build). From scratch, a plane for il2 looks like it would take months to create.

When BoB comes out just about everyone who has been waitng for it and is above stealing it will buy it. Some of those with rigs that can run it well willl switch and never look back, others will go back and forth. Those with rigs that run it but not well will either shelve it and start their new rig fund and keep flyng this, because let's face it, I don't care how good BoB is, this sim still has legs.

I will do both as i have no doubt that SoW will be a killer sim.

well, i had EAW ( modded to the roof) installed and regularly played along with original IL2 installation .

When FB came out i had CFS2 as "parallel" sim cos i missed PTO planes

For me , switching fully on BOB depends on two things :

1 will it run relatively smoothly on my rig with average settings

2 how quick will 3th party models /maps get introduced ( so we wont be fully tied to BoB period)

I don't think I'll switch for a good while

this is what I came up with when I thought about it

Pros:
Higher quality graphics, more dynamic damage, more realistic ground objects, moving clouds, new maps, new planes

Cons:
small planeset compared to IL2, only one area, new planes included are all either in mods or are WIPs, (which are likely to be finished long before BOB), slower framerates for most computers, much smaller maximum plane count in missions for all computers, smaller ground/sea battles, and all aircraft and ground objects are from a much smaller period 1939-1941.

Personally, I think the main ones are the lack of a pacific theater, a much smaller maximum plane count (no more 100 plane missions), and lack of versitality and creativeness allowed due to the other restrictions
