Hey Men,
I have decided to dip my hand into re-painting the P-38 Cockpit. What I'm looking for are all of the cockpits colored pictures that I can get my hands on. I have all of the TGA files converted and I am ready to start the repainting, but first I want to look at what needs it and what doesn't...So if any of you pilots out there have any good reference please send it my way. Thanks

I was pleased that someone was looking to upgrade my favourite ride. How are things progressing?

The skin is also flawed, as the booms and tail are mirrored, making some great aircraft impossible to properly replicate. It would be so good if one of you geniuses could sort out that problem for a simple skinner like me :wink:

Glad to see you are taking up this project. The top lens of the reflector sight was somehow overlooked in this model. I have fashioned some mesh and a tga for this that I would be glad to contribute to your effort if you wish.

Sure Poncho what ever you have, would be cool. I'm going over each TGA file with a fine tooth comb...This will take a little time but once its done the final cockpit should be a lot better then the stock version. :wink:

I'm loving this MOD! Great choice.

Would also love to have the P-38H versions to support more realistic planesets in PTO.

Currently, all of the P38 models use the same cockpit folder. If you find in your research that there are major differences between models in cockpit components, it would be possible to give each model its own folder. I don't know if this is needed- I'm just saying. :wink:

So far I only have plans for the one folder, but if it needs to have more then one, then so be it... :wink:

In support of the need for a diferent cockpit for earlier versions, not all layouts would appear to be the same, I have this shot of the Glacier Girl cockpit, I don't know if it is the "original" stick design though. (obviously the GPS is a later addition....)
