[DOWNLOAD TOUR 1] (Slot) VMF-213 Hell Hawks Campaign

Thanks Dixiecapt

I do think it is a problem with the mapmods and not campaign. I saw some guys saved it to single missions, Ill try that and BTW none of the new campaigns of the "slot" is saving on my pc.

Once again thanks for this fab campaign. Cannot wait for the other campaigns you busy with

Just want to post that here to show my appreciation and joy with this fine piece of a static campaign. Well done! Really good missions and a lively world. Those linked real AARs etc make it a really rich experience. Well done and thank you.

Take Off at Henderson for heading out towards the CAP area over the Russel Islands (Got to cheat here as this mission did not include droptanks but I lost the iamges from takeoff...)

After a long and action less CAP, sun already closed in to the horizon and drop tanks already lost, we eventually got one of those light twin engine bombers keeping our jarheads awake at Guadalcanal. My leader already battered him and I'm moving in for another punch

After buzzing him vertically I roll around to see if he got enough...

...only to find him still going
[Image: 3280225840_e437c3f4e8_o.jpg]

Seconds later flight leader brought him down. I do a last check over the open sea but as we can'T find anything moving it's time to move out
[Image: 3279405301_a82cefdb4f_o.jpg]

When we went feet dry again the sun already vanished and only some few last rays sneak around the horizon sparkling in the bellies of our 'Sairs
[Image: 3280225484_466aca32f8_o.jpg]

About the same time we got informed a second twin mot, a Betty, reached the vincity of Henderson. Must have taken the northern route via Santa Isabel and Florida Islands
[Image: 3279405161_312c6e5de0_o.jpg]

He appeared too early for us but the remaining light allowed the Triple-A teams to bring him down. All left for us is the still smoking wreck in the jungle
[Image: 3279404961_34b4657207_o.jpg]

We're called in for landing and I'm doing al ast round over the field to get into the pattern

Those are Great Shots! THank you so much to take the time to share your experiances with the Campaign. I am very glad you are enjoying it!

I am sorry that the second part of the campaign (the invasion of the New Georgia Group) has been postponed, until the completion of the Korean War Map.

It will be coming though, again that you so much for your shots, and words, i was flattered!

really excellent campaign.

the "literature" on the floor behind the cockpit of the Japanese Betty bomber (viewing from the outside in) is a nice touch. lol! i don't think the japs had much tolerance for contraband material like that, though.

thought i'd miss that, huh? old Kov don't miss much.

Hi, Dixiecapt,

I loved the first 2 parts of the campaign, I was wondering if there's any progress of part III. I don't want to push things in any way and I do respect that you may have other things to do or other prioryties but just to let you know that there's still interest in this wonderful campaign.

+1 for that!

I've finished the merged tour 1+2 these days the second time and I'm thirsty for a sequel.

One of the best campaigns I've ever flown! Keep up your good work with those great campaigns and wonderful maps (also great thanks and admiration to the Map-Modders).

Weird...

I have been up to my neck in KTO stuff.... when it's not IRL stuff. However, I pulled out the mission briefings for Part three two days ago, dusted them off, did some more reading on ComAir New Georgia, added missions, and began to make them.

It will take a little time as I am starting classes again tomorrow, but I'm hoping in a month I can release a part III version, and a Full Version.

BTW. I plan to used the modded new slot PBY, and maybe some others, for some interesing Semi-Historical missions. Keep in mind VMF-213 historicly came off the line just before Munda was taken. Your pilot then is asked to spend a month at Buttons "Espiritu Santu" (sp?), and help VMF-123 switch from Wildcats, to the newest version of the Corsair, the F4U-1A. The majority of the missions in Part III will be based off of third person information, and not as accurate at Parts I and II, which I had squadron documents and journals for.

This part will cover VMF-123's third tour in the Pacific, (as thier first two were uneventful wildcat patrols over Cactus). Your Pilot will decide to stay on the line with VMF-123 after training some of their pilots.

A Fun tip, if you want to get Crazy with your Marine Corsair Campaigns, you can do something I did. Take ComAirSols and play it infront of Phil K's Awesome Hell in the pacific Series, followed by some of the Corsair KTO stuff I have, and plan to put out. Talk about a Gull Winged Grand Campaign!

Cheers and THANKS for the intrest!
