And now that i know how to change the background screens, it's inevitable that there seems to be a wealth of available images to use. So many in fact, that I was wondering if there is any way of getting a new, random background screen each time the game is started up?

I tried change backround but I have changed always only loading screen background ...
In game MENU wont work anyway,I tried backround.tga,backround0.tga so too backround as imf and wont work,still is here a old screen from PF
Is there other name for this screen or where can be problem ? In your mod wont work ...
so of course that I have instaled only this mod,here is not conlict with other a same mod ..

i'm not quite understanding question but , for AAA UI :

1 background0.tga

- game loading splash screen

location:
...\MODS\SplashScreen\GUI\

needs background0.mat file present as well

2 background.tga

- main menu background screen

location:
...\Missions\

needs background.mat file present as well

* same goes for different menu backgrounds of campaign/single missions nationalities

If you have files organized in non AAA UI fashion order ..... reorganize accordingly

I found a utility for IL2 over at M4T, or F-L, not sure now, will check and get back...
Anyways, it claims to be a simple batch command which you can use to randomise your menu backgrounds...
I d/l'd it, but am struggling a little with the interpretation (it's done by a French chap), so am not 100% sure as to how it works.
It uses the same principle as the 'Inflight Music Randomiser', also available at M4T...
This might be useful in conjunction with fly_zo's mod... :wink:

Rgr That but part of your dowmload is the bonus package which had new splash screen in it?? I wish you would have just moved it and not deleted it and you only deleted mine?

I hate to tell you this, but the image of the "Distinguished Service Cross" is not a DSC at all, but rather the Air Force Cross, which was not awarded until the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 1960's. Two Air Force Crosses were awarded by the Air Force retroactively for actions performed during WW2.
Here is a photo of the DSC, awarded during WW2 to the Air Corps.

This is the Air Force Cross currently awarded to Air Force personnel after 1947.
