Here it is:
A missing map from Finnish/Russo war - Finnsgulf with Hanko and Turku. I provide some WIP screenshots.
Map is not 1:1. Neither is fully geographically or historically 1:1. Map size is like 1:2 For playability reasons, i had to remove some islands. Small rivers and ponds/lakes are missing too. Finland is quite accurate though!
Team SVIR hopes that you like it!

Thanks a lot!

Just one question though... Why not on a 1:1 scale?

Did you get the map data from: HTTP://SRTM.CSI.CGIAR.ORG?

The reason i ask you is because i wanted to make this same map but i couldn't find the right map material for it...

Again, thank you for (all! ) your great maps! Big Grin 8)

I see that there is 2 questions 8)
1. Why not 1:1?
My time is limited. I was planning to do Full scale map, but... Cry
Besides, i think this is reasonable size. It takes about 10 mins to fly from Kt_Helsinki to Kt_Tallin with BW. I did read from some book that somedy ( maybe Hans Wind) made it in 9 mins.
2. Map information comes from Google maps and MS virtual earth. I cant find any SRTM data for Finland either.

This map fills an important gap. 1.) It can be used to simulate the many Soviet aerial attacks on this part of Finland during the Winter War. 2.) It can be used for the heavy fighting over the Hanko peninsula in the initial stages of the Continuation War. Hanko had been taken over by the Soviets after the Winter, and fortified by them, including air units.

Very nice screenshots. It looks like not only do we have people here who are proficient software programmers who do all these wonderful mods and alterations, but also quite a few people who have a proficiency in designing nice looking cities as well.

Who would have ever thought that city-planning would be part of a flight sim?
