Changing water colors on existing maps
#1

I believe that some time back, there was a post here which explained how one might change the water color on an existing map by editing the load.ini file?
I did this successfully on the New Guinae map (water way too blue IMO) and changed it to a slightly muddier color.
Now I can't remeber how I did it, and when I updated to vpmedia's excellent deafult map pack, my ocean blue rivers have returned
Does anyone remeber how to do this?

I'd've used acrylics to be honest, or oil based paints!

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

its in the water section of the load.ini, from ff thiland map,

[WATER]
Water = water/Water.tga
;Water = water/PacificWater.tga
;WaterColorATI = 0.140 0.175 0.230
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.225 0.180
;WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268
WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

from canons

[WATER]
Water = water/Water.tga

from libya

[WATER]
Water = water/PacificWater.tga
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.225 0.180
\\WaterColorATI = 0.140 0.175 0.230
WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233
\\WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268

not sure how it works, but thats where it is!

this section of map's load.ini is what interests you :

[WATER]
Water = water/PacificWater.tga
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.225 0.180
WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

try different settings .... best way: just copy values from load.ini of map you like water color ...
