The fit is better, agreed, before it was 30cm too long now it is only 6cm too thin. Plus, the simple drawing has a line thickness of 3cm... Oh well, I think you can keep it as it is, stefan. Only for the future you should try to get hold of high quality drawings. Smile

I think that if the visual model isn't glaringly incorrect it shouldn't be too bad. Things like the P-40s wings were horrendous, but the overall fuse length being slightly too long shouldn't be too noticable. It's better to be perfect, but better to exist than to not have the aircraft. And this looks to be pretty bloody good overall.

The key to making the game enjoyable is making sure that the flight data and performance characteristics are spot on relative to the other aircraft in the game.
If the model is perhaps not quite accurate, that wont annoy the hell out of people, if it turns out to be an uber plane, that would...

Just IMHO.

Stefan, your efforts are greatly appreciated! You don't need to change a thing and I would be thrilled to be able to fly your Ki-44 as it is... and if you wish to change it, I'm equally happy to wait. Thank you so much for devoting your time and effort to add this aircraft to IL-2!

Is that a tubular/telescopic gunsight I see? Man, even if they made a good interceptor years before the Navy did, they still lack in innovation in that area lol.

Keep up the good work Big Grin

Salute,

Thanks for comments. For the model it self I am not realy worried. Unwrapping wont be a problem to but I do have to do some homework on it since I am not sure how the whole texturing part works, this is because in the end you have like 30/40 versions and my guess is that I have to unwrap the L0_D0 version but I am not sure. The performance of the airplane well thats not in my hands since I will only model it and unwrap it, I am not a programmer so when its done I send it to danger wich will pass it over to a programmer ( I guess ).

Zorin - I think the blueprints I used are high quality but maby in the future I should first ask people wether they are good or bad ?

200th_Sakagawa - Don't worry I'll try to finish it as soon. Going to work on it today 6/12/08

Again thanks for comments and crits.

Greetings,

Stefan Coert

stefan, dont worry about the prints, the ones i sent you are from a very good site, they where selected from a choice of about 5 sets that where sent me, if you want more detail, it can be sorted, BUT remember that fortunately the models in il2 are not exactly perfect because the rendering and engine wont support all the little details, what you have done is fine work to be sure.

I want to admit that i took original picture of this plane, scaled with keeping sizes and what we got??Zorin seems that your drawing is inacurate for tail also,it missing it less than this one from airwar.ru but still is not perfect.

Try a photo with a real profile shot. As you can easily tell by the concrete plates on the ground, the photographer didn't actually line up properly with the plane Wink

You can't use a photo to compare.

Only Construction prints...

A Photo is not correct, 'cause of Camera Position (POV) and used Lense-Typ.

You can as soon as you have a 3D model to compare it with, as you then can stage a shot with the same settings as in the picture Wink But that is not what we are after here.

hmm personally think that this picture is very close to drawing its not too much different on site.I think both drawings miss the tail anyway
