I second the first request... it would make them look like much more long range fighters... if its cosmetic... as you know no one is going to be changing weapons loadouts on current aircraft...

As for your second request...I'll have to give that a big NO. Why? Because this game is for the 30's and 40's, not the 50's and 60's...and let that be clear to everyone who asks for more "modern" planes. There is so much more that should be in this game from the current era it was made for rather than jumping ahead when its not even complete...And I'm pretty sure most others will agree with me on this.

The A-1 was first flown in the 40's, it was also deployed in the late 40's just after the end of the war, it isn't modern. We just dropped the first WMD and ended it before it saw action. If it were all about the 40's then why did Oleg put all those jets in? They never saw action, but they first flew in the 40's

if they build a plane from Korea it doesn't matter if they build one from WW1 that doesn't matter either its all up to the modelers and what they decide to make

so if you don't like it don't fly it easy as that

you really think i dont know this leigh, i for one know how much work goes into modeling, as i have already built a plane for il2, and the fact that you want Korean planes here makes you a tad biased towards them.
i bought il2 because its WWII based and that was that, now it seems that some of the younger members want to fly the jets, and i will stand by my words that if you want so much to fly these jets, then you should fly lomac and games alike and not infest a WWII sim with planes that where built in 1956

the learch p-80 and migs where put in by oleg as a one off. and it should, imho stay that way.

Don't tar us young'ns with the same brush, i for one don't really care either way, although i'd become rather narked if it sidelined the Lanc, Hali, and wimpy, all of which are current WIPs. If a skyraider is made, i'll download it and fly it with enjoyment, but if the project doesn't go ahead, i won't lose any sleep over the matter. The lancaster bomber, however, if that were cancelled, i'd cry!

Yes, IL2 is a WW2 sim. But if modders want to move it forward to include the korean war, surely that won't detract from everyone's enjoyment of it, so what the hell. I mean, so the skyraider is made. If you guys don't like korean war stuff, don't download it. I don't have a problem with the korean war stuff; afterall WW2 craft were flown in it, either unchanged or considerably improved. It isn't like the war in vietnam, where most aircraft had nothing in common with their ww2 forefathers. Just make the AAA server not accept korean war aircraft, or have a special dedicated one for the korean war aircraft. [incidentally, is there a dedicated AAA 4.09b1m up yet?]
