hi all,

I have modded my IL2 1946 to 4.08m, got some new skins and sounds so what do I do next for full landscape and ground-object fulfilment? I keep seeing loads of pics on the web of gorgeous hilly terrain and busy, realistic airfields but I don't see these when I fly. Are there there any obvious downloads I'm missing to bring this sim to perfection? If you can suggest campaigns to use with terrain sets then even better. Or maybe it's a config setting. everything in-game is set to excellent/perfect

Have a look at the map-mods discussion section m8 and look at the texture threads. I'd recommend any that are to do with the BoB as compans has done some excellent textures and so has rus-andrey.

gorgeous hilly terrain = Slovakia, Alpen maps 4.09 required

busy, realistic airfields = from user made campaigns imho

+ with mods you can replace old buildings with new ones...

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and apologies for posting in the wrong section (I find the structure of this site a little hard to understand sometimes).

Also, to answer my own question, i have now installed STAB and ramped up the resolution and tree & water settings - much better!
