No, its more the dorsal section which needs to be compared... so its a C vrs C (FM) comparasion needed. From what I see the turret is more or less simply replacing the position of the fixed gun.. but if anything was to be done I'd like to see if there's more to it or not...

Ranwers, you need to subtract the two forward "cheek" gunpods from the outside of the fuselage on the nose.

The Soviet mod just had 2 (not 4) forward firing MG's and they were internal fuselage mounts.

From the photos, it looks as though the ventral gun may have been a UBT and the Browning removed as well.

Thanks for the link, 110G. The site is the VVS modeling site and they're usually pretty well researched.

Note that the model of the A-20 has torpedo racks on BOTH sides of the fuselage - tends to support the view that the A-20 could carry 2 torpedoes.

the a/c is a G variant and it is interesting to see the Soviet mods to the rear fuselage to incorporate a navigator's compartment with observation dome and side windows.
