I've noticed that all mission descriptions in the mission editor have disappeared after downloading mods. Anyone know how to retrieve them?

They don't disappear. What happens a new .properties file is made with the same name but with the addition .ru in the name of the file. If you open you windows explorer and go to the pertaining mission folder, you can copy and paste from one properties file to the the other. Then you will have the description in your FMB.
