I have a problem I just noticed. When I'm awarded a medal for an heroic performance of my duties by a grateful Finnish government, it doesn't show up. The windows are empty. I checked the campaign folder, the same files appear in both the UI and backup copy of 1946. When I open all the medal files I can see the medals, but not in the DGen campaign I'm playing. I tried copy and pasting the medal files from one game to the other, but both versions of the game have the same problem. It doesn't seem to be a problem with other countries campaigns, only Finland. But then, Finland's is my only DGen campaign. I've searched here and in M4T. The problem appears in both, but no solutions are offered.
Since the last time I played a DGen Finnish campaign, about a year ago, the medals showed up, I'd guess it must be something I've downloaded in the last year, but what? Are there separate awarding structures in DGen? Could the medal files be corrupted? I can't see any difference between the structure of medal files that work and the Finnish files. Maybe someone can pass along the medal files and see if that'll fix it? Any idea what I can do?

This may not pertain to your problem but here goes....

There are message files in the DGen folder.
From my understanding if the awards are not listed in these files they will not show up properly.
If they are not there you will have to add to your file.

This is the Finnish message file awards for English.

FI_MessageEn This is the filename for English in the DGen folder. (Finnish Message English)
Look for any files with message in its name.
Look for an En descriptor for English files.

Did you install "Swastika/HakenKreuz Enable"MOD ?

Wheelsup_cavu, I checked the FI_message_En and it showed the awards with the

I tried disabling the Hakenkreuz folder, and it made no difference. Still no medals.

i had that problem also, but i dont know if urs are the same,
i was missing all pic in the game for awards, all pic was in rigth folder but still no in the game,
and it was after a up date of dgen files i think, so do u have the same problem try this,
go in to ur IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Missions\Campaign\FI\
look for the award0.mat change that to awardh0.mat

if ur pic showing up in the game, add that "h" to all the other mat files.


that worked for me, bu i dident just have problem for the Finns also Germans award dident show up
so i had to change all awardx mat files.

see if that helps

and see if someone that can better explain the problem that made this.

NP so u had the same problem i had,
i used the log file to find the problem, there i notis that the game cadent find the award0h.mat file,
but still wonder what made that problem, some update of degen files im relay sure of.
