Thnx

LOL The H-6 is already in-game, man.

He means He-111H-16 I guess, which was made by the same people like this Ju-88.

6S.Maras !
Could you possibly modify "your" Torpedo-carrier a bit further and get us a Ju 88 S-3/ T-3 please !!
It's really only the nose-cone that is a problem !
The engines were upgraded and the ventral gondola was removed.
Happy New Year

The aircraft is ncluded in UI 1.1.

Here is the readme

Historical background:
======================

Waiting for the especially built torpedo version, later known as A-17, some seventy already built Ju-88A-4 were reworked to made them able to carry torpedoes and replace older He-111H-6s.
Prototype flew in mid 1941, but they were ready for use only almost a year later.

Main modifications from original Ju-88A-4 model were:

- New inner wings with PVC-1000B torpedo racks instead of regular twin ETC bomb racks;
- Fairing for the LT-Anlage torpedo launching device on right side of the nose;
- New fixed MG under the nose, often carried by this version and other anti-ship German bombers.
- Removing of Lofte bombsight and dive brakes

Features of new aircraft:
=========================

- New aircratf meshes for wing racks and LT-Anlage
- New meshes by Jippo for inner wings with racks, propellers and spinners
- New armament (1xMGFF 20mm with 360 rounds in the nose, controlled by the pilot)
- New cockpit: Lofte bombsight deleted, Stuvi gunsight replaced by Revi, added MGFF Gun and torpedo regulation box (these latter by Jippo), deleted dive lines, new circular window on engine cowling, for engine gauges, new bombardier position (near torpedo box)
- New gunner figures in external view
- Completely new DM: Ju88A-4/Torp is not a "paper plane" like stock Ju.88, it has armour, spars, internal fuel and oil tanks, complete damage model for engines.
- New torpedoes: LTW (Italian model, Whitehead Fiume) and LTF5B, each with a new mesh and skin
- Also Practice torpedo available, this is a dummy torpedo (with very low charge), with distinguishing red/white stripes, used for training. IT'S A DUMMY TORPEDO, DO NOT TAKE IT FOR WAR MISSIONS ! Smile
- Torpedoes can be dropped one at a time or at the same time
- Available loadouts:

- Default
- 1x LTW Torpedo
- 2x LTWTorpedo (salvo) ==> Torpedoes are dropped together at the same time (recommended for AI)
- 2x LTWTorpedo (spread) ==>> Torpedoes are dropped one at a time
- 1x LF5B Torpedo
- 2x LTF5B (salvo) ==> Torpedoes are dropped together at the same time (recommended for AI)
- 2x LTF5B (spread) ==>> Torpedoes are dropped one at a time
- 2x Practice Torpedo (spread) ==>> Torpedoes are dropped one at a time
- Empty

Features of new torpedoes:
==========================
These torpedoes have a more realistic model than standard IL-2 torpedoes. Safe drop height is increased to about 160m. Dropping from slightly higher height can fail depending on aircraft speed. Dropping From much higher height will fail.
Torpedoes need a course of about 5 seconds to stabilize their course in water. Dropping too close will cause the torpedo to pass under the ship and fail to explode.
Torpedoes will have random malfunctions (premature explosion, dud, engine failure). A total of about 13% failures is to be expected on all torpedoes.

Good work,
can you make it available as a separate download for those who don`t want to install UI 1.1?

+1

People at Hells Gazelles have had no end of trouble with downloading the thing only for it to be corrupted.

Yeah, me too, mate.

Can't download the UI-1.1, 'cause of volume based internet access... 2 Gig cost's me too much,
can't handle that bill... I'm sorry.

Please, release also the final here seperatly... would you?

[color=yellow]I found the whole installation quite straight-forward. I always make a back-up of all ini and ru files before adding in the extra lines just in case - and I would strongly advise that you do this as I know how long it takes to try and sort out a CTD situation.

Once again a huge vote of thanks to Ranwers for his antenna mod, which I have applied to this bird (there were a limited number of radar equipped versions of this aircraft, I think they were used to acquire the target and guide others to it).

[i](If you have not done this before, it is quite easy really. I duplicate the JU88 folder in the MODS folder and put

Hi,
actually the radar-equipped version was not the A-4/Torp but the A-17 (the one without the gondola). And the radar antenna was quite different. It was the Fug.200 Hohentwiel.
