How to backup campaign state, keyboard and other settings?
#1

Dear Forum Readers,

Unfortunately my computer sent it's soul back to his engineer and stopped working I had to reinstall Il-2. I have all my old files and I would like to continue where I have stopped. Most importantly I would like to save my pilot's results and my campaign status. Can you please tell me after the new install what files to overwrite with the old ones? The folder 'User' is self-explanatory, but I am not sure the campaign status is also there. Keyboard mapping file??

Thanks to help me.

I usually just flop the whole backup onto the fresh patched install.

Dear All,

Thanks for the help.

So just copy users and missions for campaigns.

Thanks.

Backing up.. there are two camps... In the old pre mod days it was simple Since I have a backu p drive I just back up my entire 46 folder. if space is an issue I reccomend that you back up :

Paint schemes - All your skins.. You dont really think about it but it hurts to have a bunch of custom skins that you loose due to a crash. I back mine up.

Config file - Very important..

Users - All your stick settings and user profiles... Nothing like having to reprogram your stick set up from scratch, especially after you get it just right, to make your day.

DGEN - Offline campaign settings I believe...

NGEN- Online campaign settings..

Quicks - If you have created quite a few Quick Missions.. I have some still from FB 1.0

Records - Any good tracks you made that you want to keep? Thats where they are..

Missions - All your missions...

Mods - Self explanatory

files, i18n & std folders.. - All I know is some mods put stuff there asndf if you dont back it up you may have to reload some mods..

So the above is why I just backup my whole 46 folder.. All 3.8 G of it..

You will also want to back up any stick profiles or TIR profiles you have aliong with your TS settings.
