[F4U-1_Corsair]

this mod repaints the F4U-1's cockpit with a zinc chromate more similar to that used by Vought, rather than the Green used by Grumman.

The zinc chromate used in aircraft was often used with a pigment. This led someone a long time ago to make the mistake of thinking that the zinc chromate used in Grumman aircraft was the normal coloring of zinc chromate. Knowing that the inside of a corsair's cockpit was painted with zinc chromate, they mistakenly painted a model, or repainted a real warbird with grumman green. The idea spread, and it wasn't until reletively recently that it was proven they were not painted that color at all. However, unlike Grumman, Vought went through a number of different colors in the cockpit, from Salmon to a bright yellow, so this is by no means the only color used.



the Corsair Mk1 / F4U-1 is not repainted as I've been unable to locate its files.
If anyone knows where they are, please post or PM me.

lastly, if anyone has a picture of a corsair painted in a different interior color, I can make a new version for them fairly quickly.

Updated, now the Corsair MkI / F4U-1 has a repainted cockpit.

That's a very good news !
The stock ones are very ugly...

Do you think it is possible to make them clean even in middle view, like in Freddy's cockpit ?
In some other cockpit, the gauges are clean in zoom view but blurring in middle view.

it depends on their resolution, and with increaesed resolution, comes increased strain, so too much detail and the computer bogs down.

I will have two levels of detail, but its still a bit off, as I haven't finished more than 10% of the cockpit
