Great campaign. Thanks for all the hard work!

I have one slight problem that I would like to get resolved. When I select the campaign all the ranks are in Russian. Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks in advance.

Go to your campaigns folder eg., MISSIONS/CAMPAIGN/GB and check to see if there is a rank_ru.properties. If you also have the rank.properties just delete the rank_ru.properties.

That should fix it. The same goes for the other campaign folders. You can open them in notebook and see how the ranks are listed also.

cheers,

Dude, you're a life saver. Worked perfectly. It especially helped me out since I'm new to modding IL-2, and have no idea how the folder structure works yet. Never would have figured this out on my own.

Glad you're up and running.

This is a good campaign.

Hi stargazer, I put the canon_objects folder with the blister object in the STD folder and it still won't save. Also I lose all the runway textures which made landing the Spit a bit of a gamble!

When you go to the FMB (Full Mission Builder), does the map show up under either CAN_Channel or English_Channel?

Can you make a single mission and save it for example?

Hi stargazer, I think you've cracked it!!! Big Grin
The map doesn't show up at all in the FMB, as it is not listed in the all.ini.
However I amnot able to modify the ini files as my computer keeps saying that the file type or path are incorrect. It seems tha I cannot save as a ini file type, and the ini properties are not set as read only or anything that would otherwise block me out. How do you add lines to an ini??

Good, we're onto something.

This is the line in my all.ini for the Can_Channel map.
CAN_Channel CAN_Channel/CAN_40_load.ini

Open up the .ini in notepad or any standard text program such as wordpad or Msword.

Easiest way is to right click on the all.ini file and select notepad as the program to open it. Tick the box "always open with this program" so it will automatically do it in the future.

Alternately, you can open notepad and go through the directory to the all.ini file and select "open all files" , open it, edit it and save it.

ps. backup the original before proceeding Smile

I'm using notepad, but it says it cannot save it. The message says it cannot create the all.ini file check file name or path are correct.

... I've had this very same problem with ALL my campaigns for months now and still no solution, except transform each campaign into a collection of single missions, which is very easily done, the "advantage" beeing you can refly a mission even if you "succeeded" it ...

What I don't understand is that I sometimes can save, say, the first 3 or 4 missions in a campaign, and then next time I resume it I find myself stuck in the 1st mission ....

"But its a shame that the tiger moth overwrites the russian plane"

Carnagexxx, all you need to do to restore the russian plane is to place a minus (-) sign in front of the Tiger Moth folder in the MODS section, very simple....need the Tiger Moth, remove the -, don't need it, put it back.
