Great isn't it... Can you remember not that long ago, how we were all branded as a bunch of criminals by the Oleg messiahs.. lol!
The numbers alone tell the story.. the modders have kept this game alive not only enhancing it, but have given the game a further lease of life.. and rather than 'ruining' the game for all, have actualy brought many IL2'ers back into the fold because they were bored and fed up with it the way it was!
Long may this continue.. and to the 'originals', who have stuck with the site through the hard times and through thick and thin, I salute you!

Don't encourage it; all it is is three people (maybe more) who have their opinions, and voice them along with some very nasty comments, and very much incorrect information (Us supposedly asking for and getting thousands in, and I quote, "donations" for supposed profit.... lol I'm sure MrJolly just loves all this profit... FFS)

As Bee said at the Zoo before he was shut up; its appalling that one of their supposed employees is allowed to go on their official forum, and insult the customers. Nice one chaps.

Well, I'm going back to enjoy my LAME, and incorrect mods, and working on my LAME, and INCORRECT Whirlwind. Not to mention taking heat for policing this place from all the crap we promised not to allow and yet supposedly manufacture, support, and sell secretly (ssh)

I'm surprised that they locked the last lot of those threads, yet not these... Why don't the admins and moderators get their house in order? Mods splitting the community? No its those sort of attitudes.

Oh well. Screw'em

Indeed, cheers to the AAA site owners, moderators, contributors and, of course, the users whose enthusiasm makes all this possible.

This is quite a change of heart for me. I was initially dead-set against this site and all it stood for. Over the course of time I've seen how Mr.Jolly, Magpie, Fly-Zo, and the rest have worked their butts off to ensure this site and all the mods created and released here have maintained strict adherence to a set of rules that allows those of us particularly interested in the multiplayer aspects of the sim to retain a level playing field. My hat is off, thank you gentlemen.

There are plenty of places out there on the net living up to my initial expectations of a massive "Pandoras Box", creating mods that are less than well intentioned and letting them loose on unsuspecting (or unscrupulous) players. One doesn't have to search hard to find them... but once you do, good luck trying to find friends to fly with once you've demonstrated the effects of mods from "those" sites.

The flip side of that is other modding communities throughout the globe, diligently working on superb new aircraft (the Fokker D-XXI comes to mind), maps, objects and game enhancements to polish what is already an outstanding sim series. In the future I hope more of these global communities working the same path as the AAA site will be able to further pool their efforts.

I still get a bad feeling when I consider how all this came about ... or at least my limited knowledge of how it all came about. From that (bad?) seed has sprung a grand crop though, and in the end I am grateful for it.
