that's excellent news!
Hawkman Wrote:What we need are some good hi-res drawings which include good fuselage and wing foil cross-sections. Internal airframe details would also be good. A preliminary search for websites and books that could provide good enough drawings didn't reveal too much, so if anyone out there knows of any good drawings either on the net, or published, let us know
Hawkman Wrote:I'm assuming most folks would like a Z variant - much needed for Canon's new map, and any early war campaigns
Canon - absolutely yes on on your offer to do the template skin You must have your hands full - what with the Maps, and your family - so your offer is appreciated It will be a while, but if we can get the 3d model built and mapped, you can work your magic on it

Quote:There is a finished external model DO-17Z.
This model is not build by me but I know a creator.
But I still dont know really good 3dsmax creators here ...
So I cant offer this model to anybody which have positive mind, there is need guy which really know very good import problematics, limitation of Il2 engine and have good 3dsmax knowledge for update model.
So if there is any good 3dsmax creator which have interest update DO-17 model for game contact me via PM.
Quote:The very best drawings of the Do 17Z (and 17M/P/215), to my knowledge, are contained in the recent Kagero book. They are fineline Autocad drawings with a full set of former profiles for both fuselage and wing. I have many references on the subject of Dornier bombers, and these are without doubt, the best I've seen. I also have some detailed schematics of the interior layout, which may be of interest.
Quote:And yes, I can definitely squeeze in time for this much-needed aircraft. It really doesn't take me long to knock up a template, and so if you can provide me with an unwrapped model tga (once you've built the beauty) I can make a lovely skin for it

My advice, Hawkers, is to build it from scratch... For many a reason...
Thats whats happening with the Lancaster - a total rebuild from scratch. At the end of the day, its easier, and quicker than working off someone elses work, I assure you.
