Escort. 12 bombers, and my flight for four P-47's.

I shot one down, but then I got hit. I stayed in it, I found another one trying to find the bombers. I stuck on him for way too long and when I shot him down I looked down at my fuel gauge. I was dangerously low on fuel, and a bit short on altitude. I climbed up an extra thousand feet and pulled pitch to 60% and power to 50%, I then set a course for home. I confirmed visual on the base, and I started into a short traffic pattern. I turned final, and I had trimmed it all out to account for the heavily damaged right wing tip. On about the last 500 feet of my approach my wing caught ground effect, and with the damage to the right wing I did my best to counteract the hard right roll. I touched down slightly hard, right wheel first, then left came down. I bounced once, but was able to taxi back to parking.

Erm, I'm pretty sure he just gave us his combat report - of some mission?
109dude, why were you in a P47? Here's me thinking that maybe you like flying blue planes...

Eh, I got my name from the fact that the first plane I could figure out how to fly in IL2 was the 109, I'd blow up a 109 any day if it meant getting in a good old tough reliable hard hitting fast Jug
