Hello, mates. Just a humble request. Is it possible to make a mod that'll allow the bots engines to overheat exactly as player's does now? I'm truly tired of those robot guys to have 110% power with afterburner on constantly. That's both unfair and unrealistic at the same time...
Thanks.
Regards,
Mangas.
I agree totally, AI are completely unrealistic. For example, with a P 47 you can't outdive a 109. Furthermore as Mangas said, they can use continously full power which is very frustrating when you see a slower plane overcoming your's  .This game has now a great level of realism and maybe it's time to take a look at the AI...Should be a very welcome mod!
yeah I agree too. Its quite annoying struggling to catch an enemy you know you should be faster than!
but wether of not its possible is another story
That would be great. However if one denies AIs this advantage (and perhaps some other unrealistic advantages too)one have to make them cleverer too, such that the player is still challenged, and in a more realistic way
Hello Mangas,
While not having anything to offer as far as help getting towards the mod, I do agree with everthing said here. I've talked about it at length in other places.
Does anybody know if it just costs too much memory? It would be nice if they suffered the player's turbulence down low as well. (For flying against bomber gunners and Ace AI's)
Most of my play is online now for that very reason. I can outrun a Spit flying a 190, or a 109 whilst flying a Mustang. Much less frustrating than the AI's script that has him just fly away at 110%+WEP for the whole time.

sorry to say, but I have never encountered this, indeed, if anything I've found the AI to not be as efficient.
for example, I can out run a AI bf109E4 in a spit mkIV on the deck at least
I can outrun a A6M2 in a wildcat
and lastly, I almost always end up blowing by the Bf109 I was chasing when it goes into a dive, while I am in a P47
My assumption is simply that a AI plane often is flying as if it is perfectly trimmed, and therefore isn't losing any speed through minor course changes that a human without trim is subject to. Properly trimmed in level flight you can often out run a plane slightly faster than you who isn't using trim. In a dive, in a P47, look down at instruments and see how much the torque is causing you to fly kind of like in a sideslip. At least in a corsair, at around 700km/h the ball has been shoved all the way to the left. (Thats not in a vertical dive, so it still reads properly)
As to the turbulence, they are effected, just they have lightning fast reflexes to counter it and remain on course. you can notice their control surfaces fluttering while on the deck
The AI also has "perfect" engine management that a human could not possibly match... hence why they sometimes get away so easily...
On another note... I wanted to see a project and I also figured something out.... get this
You know when you fly the Yak-9T and fire the 37mm Cannon, the plane shakes, right? Well, i devised a little experiment.... I took the Yak-9T and put it on AI autopilot... and looking from the cockpit... the plane DOES NOT SHAKE when they fire the 37mm cannon!!! That is not fair!! And I suspect this is the same with all other big-gun aircraft.
