I have tried Server 2003 as a workstation for a few weeks, and while it is extremely stable, its main disadvantage is that it requires "Professional" i.e. expensive antivirus software- normal AV software such as Norton, AVG, Avira etc won't install on it- which is why I stopped using it. Apart from that, I prefer it to XP- i't's an updated W2000 without XP's clutter.
IL2:1946 will install and run, but I didn't play it very often on 2003 before removing it.

I used the 32-bit version. By the way, if your IT chums find a solution for the anti-virus, I'd like to know!

Ill find out from the IT guys.

I had to reinstall XP again(at least 64bit) as Server2003 is not compatible with my AMD chipset, but maybe the server 2008 might work, but that next weeks worries, as I cant go trough the weekend without flying! Smile

Update: reinstalled 2003 Server on a spare hard disc; discovered today that the PCTools free Firewall v4.0 installs and runs without problems on 2003 Server Standard. That leaves the antivirus problem to solve.......
The free version of the ZoneAlarm firewall won't install on Server 2003 unfortunately Sad
