EDIT:
I thought I'd post the latest wips in the first post so here they are, almost finished with the summer textures, this map is Net Mountains, but these textures are visible on all the maps that I play on-line because I gave them the same names as on the original Il2 textures. These are the textures with the new bumpmaps that cast shadows and so on.
Hello all!
After a little help I managed to figure out what some textures do, so I decided to make/modify new textures, and have them pop up on-line. without the load.ini crap.
I also made a cloud texture, that some maps on-line need, because they are somehow not using the off-line clouds. I might release this as a Cloud mod V2. right now the only problem I have is that theclouds are too solid, but adding transparency to them ruins it even more. The best part is that there's no way to cheat, the clouds show as much /little as the standard clouds.
I used Handy's Crimea textures, and Compans ground textures, mixed the best of each and tweaked them a bit, I'd like to ask Handy and Compans if it is ok if I do so, and if I finish this mod, add you guys in the credit list.
Th ebest part is that I tweaked a bumpmap for the fields, just to see what it was doing, and when I joined a game on-line with a low sun, I could see shadows from all the bushes and trees that were embedded in the texture, this gives a much better sense of deapth.
Well, an image says more than 1000 words so here's some screengrabs, please let me know what you think!

On-line cloud mod and bumpified compans texture.
more clouds, solid clouds can look good sometimes, but sometimes theyre just too sharp.
The city below is Handy's texture mixed with elements from compans, Handy matched the roads to where the houses are, I wanted to keep that (so that houses don't stand on the roads etc) and I added some photoreal elements from compans textures.
Here's some screens of my new pine tree texture, I felt the trees had to be much darker in Il2, and the ground under the trees should be almost the same colour as dried pine needles etc
