I hope I'm posting this in the right place...it looks like my previous posting was removed (?).

I was wondering how hard it would be to redesign the "object selection" panel in the FMB so that we can access objects by typing in the number of the object (in the window) instead of having to scrolling through all the objects every time we are looking for something...

AND

I was wondering if it was possible to add a feature to the FMB so that we can place aeroplane formations (live & AI) onto the map & into different historical configurations. Example: Early Japanese bombers used a "half diamond formation". Right now it is only possible to order your own formation into different configurations after the mission has started.

I'm old fashioned about this. I just scroll through enough times and after a while I get to know where to find things. Plus all the added mods, whew! that's a lot of numbers to remember. Have you tried using one of the many Object Lists that are availalbe. There are several at Mission 4 Today

Have you tried Crazy Schmidt's Mission Mate. The latest version works mod friendly. It's a quicik and easy way to make custom formations.

I still feel that the object selection function could be a lot better in the FMB...I would love to be able to type in an object number so that I can "jump" ahead (or back) more quickly. A small complaint (granted) but I find it frustrating "clicking" and scrolling back-and-forth through hundreds of objects at a time. I would also love to see a couple of buttons added to the panel for clicking ahead or back one object at a time...


SECOND: I was not aware the "Mission Mate" allowed you to create missions with different "AI" formations...I have never found a function that allowed you to choose between the "right or left echelon", "V", or "diamond" formations. Every time I place a "flight" of four aircraft on the map they are always in the same configuration...
