Hi Im loving your guys work and am just wondering if these' small' graphic fixes for the planes were possible.

Early tail on the MkIX spit
Remove the dorsal fillet on the P51D-5
Fillet on the P47 (Late)
Erla hood 109G6 with standard tail

and outlandish request of more trees in the FMB (we have very little in the way to trees for maps)
and an external viewer for making skins so we dont have to enter the game every time to check single pixal alignment. These maybe be pipe dreams..

If not thats cool, but it would be great to have them

The first 3 they are not just graphic changes but they affect the FM too.So it might be accurately to model en early IXc with the early tail but I don't think that the IX is modelled on than.The P-51 it can be discussed since I believe D-5 indeed didn't have the dorsal fillet, but still it wouldn't have been right for the FM.The P-47D_Late cannot resemble a D-40 I am afraid.D-40s had dive flaps too, among other changes.With the K-14 the best that it can achieved is something like a late D-30, but still this is not entirely accurate so is better to keep the generic name D_late instead renaming it D-30.
Erla hood and standard tail this can be done I think, but most standard tail G-6 had the early hood.So is a matter of available slots I guess.But even in this case I would have wanted better a G-6/AM (a hybrid between a G-14 FM and a G-6 skin and loadout) and a G-14/AS (almost the opposite, a G-6/AS FM with an hybrid G-6/AS & G-14 skin and G-14 loadout)

I *think* this was done back in October... Cannot remember exactly if it was released to public - but Im 98% sure that it was done, and looked fantastic

Early tail on the MkIX has been done and people are using it, along with other details that were changed such as correct filters etc... So regardless of FM, yes it has been done..

The first mod is "early tail" with large, default, centerline, lower fuselage air intake.

Second has "early tail", but substitutes small centerline air intake. Unfortunately, I think there is a bug with this release, as external, centerline stores do not show.

Hi thanks for the replies

Yeah I was assuming in the thoughts that the FMs would not be effected by changes to the 3D model.
ie: the short chord rudder on the IX should by rights give less control but Im not interested in Fm just improving the looks of my game like the fantastic canopy mods for the 190A8 and early D9

Someone did a removed Dorsal fin for the Mustang D-5 also, and Huninthesun has done erla canopies for the G-6 as well....

This is the Mustang tail fix. I believe it was done by a guy named spoon. It's in the old pre mods folder format so you will have to change the folder name from files to P-51_Fin_Fix or something like that and put it in your mods folder.
