[MOD] Pratt and Whitney R-2800
#31

if you don't like them you just have to delete the Pratt and Whitney 2800 folder from your mods folder.

or you can disable it by renaming it with a - in front of the folder's name

Give him a break eh?.. He doesn't have to repair anything, he's doing this for free in his own time.

actually, I have heard that it sounds bad with anything more than two speakers.

I have only one speaker working, and therefore I can't edit the proporties for the other speakers with any cirtainty.

if anyone out there would like to improve this mod feel free to do so. either pm me their result and I will give them credit for it, or post it themselves and give me some credit. I'd rather everyone end up with a good mod then take all the credit for a bad one

Yes.. there are other sims that have great engine sounds.. however, that still doesn't alter the fact that any modder 'has' to alter his mod, just because some users don't like it or want it changed.. They aren't being paid to produce this stuff.. wait out!

That gave me a good laugh.

However, the fact remains, Because I only have one speaker working at the moment, any editing I do to the properties for surround or anything more than 2 speakers, would just be like shooting in the dark.

The sounds are located in PrattWhitney 2800/samples/

For the Lower RPMs I used the highest quality Corsair startup video I could find on you tube, and edited out some of the interferance.

The main problem was the PRS file, which tells the game when to change to use a different sound. Normally as the engine increases RPM it simply accelerates the sound, but once it reaches a designated RPM it begins fading out one sound and increasing the volume of the next highest RPM sound.

I had to create a new sound for idling so as to create a similar sound as the real corsair when at minimum throttle. This neccesitated the created of a new entry in the Pratt and Whitney PRS file.

Also in the PRS file are the properties for different speaker combinations and such.

Corsair, I think you did a very good job to duplicate the real sounds, I like them and I will keep them until Tiger 33 Sound Mod hits the ground. Thank You Good Job, "B" Big Grin
