Major melt down
#1

Modded install was working fine, pretty much have it all.

Let a few days go by installing various mods and some map quicks and lines for the conf.ini, nothing major.

NOW, icon hangs immediately, no splash screen at all. Was running fine up to a few days ago on VISTA ult 64. I removed any installed mods and conf.ini linnes recently added but no help.

I had a similar issue recently, the game started crashing with a memory error - to the point where it would NOT work at all - every mission load would get to 100%, and crash... Cry
There was no new mod to cause it - but i've made a new install now, and patiently waiting for UI ver 1.1 to be released...

If the game isn't loading at all, ie no splash screen or anything. Go to your config.ini and rem out the processoraffinitymask line with a ;

Then experiment with what one will work for you.

Hi,

What does "rem out" mean?

Thanks

Remark out.

Placing a semi-colon in front of anything in the Il2 config files tells the computer to ignore that line.

Ok, I thin I had the wrong resolution on one config, instead of 1680 1050, I had 1680 1150, but whats interesting is it worked before with that. I have now added all the quick lines back to the config.ini one at a time and now things work. THAT was the only change I had made to the config in days. odd.

the config.inis are the same.

Ugh but those 100% loaded ati hangs ctd SUCK!

Check to see if ATI/AMD have issued new drivers for your video card as well as checking your motherboards drivers/BIOS. 98% of the time, your problems with CTD's can be fixed by making sure you're updated.

I tried this with the amd,ati site and 8.12 screwed up my driver install. Catalyst was gone and no 2nd screen all out of whack. But then I noticed that it was an msi version or the 2600 so i'll get it sorted out. I have the disk that came stock with the computer. but i do wat to update.

thanks again.

Well actually the card is a fanless card for my audio rig. I mean it runs FAR CRY 2 pretty easily. Its just you have to be a German Rocket Scientist to install the update. But I think I 'm going to go through MSI. Thats the right choice i believe.

Ok so I went back to the origianl ATI driver that worked fine fine before all this.

But now I have a WHITE SPLASHSCREEN and a SLIDESHOW at the interface and in flight as well regardless of the settings.

KEEP in mind this ATI card ran the PEARL HARBOR MISSIONS pretty much perfectly in PERFECT MODE before.

Any suggestions?
