You just have to taxi very carefully out from all the trees then hold the brakes, lower flaps to take off, throttle almost right up (brakes still on) and you'll be able to lift off almost vertically.
using external views might help with taxiing.

when you say taxi out from the trees do you mean ALL the trees because i've tried to do that but once i get passed that one lone tree that blocks your path and looks out of place i explode for some reason.
Sorry for the late reply - was away in Guam for Xmas. Watch out for the tree textures - the layered ones. They're invisible from ground level, they might be the problem.
thats probably it. also on the mission with the blenheim on the carrier i instead fly a ki 27 on the summit of Kolombongara. In the arming screen I have the Ki 27 in red and the Blenheim down the bottom in black. Is there anyway to change planes in the arming screen or is that how its supposed to be?
Nope - that's definitely a mistake. i thought I'd removed all those but obviously not. Do you remember what rank you selected? If you go into the FMB you can play it. It's a fun one. Let me know if you are unfamiliar with the FMB.
ThanksPellaeon. Glad you enjoyed it. What did you edit in teh last one - did you end up in the wrong plane too? If so I should probably fix it.
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the FMB and would love help with it as the mission does look great. Aside from that the whole campaign is great.
