Looks great. Nice work. Numbers are much better.

I had to remove NewMat2.3
removed mat files in Cache

NewMat put an Emblems folder in IL2/PaintSchemes. Can this be removed too?
I removed it and everything seems ok. I want to clear the clutter from my sim.

yes remove it, don't need NewMat, I already reworked all for correct size.

Many thanks Mcwwolf. One question though, is it absolutely necessary to run on perfect settings to have this work properly? While my system can just manage perfect I don't use it because on many of the servers my frame rate craps out.

I have a Nvidia card, but if this requires perfect detail wouldn't this also mean that people using an ATI card wouldn't be able to use it either? As I believe perfect is a problem with ATI chipsets?

I like the new roundels very much, one thing though - it seems they don't mash very well with new modded planes and new modded default skins... In some cases we get doubled unit code letters, in others the said codes are right on top of the roundels...

So - good job, and you're definitely on the right track, but i guess it still needs a bit work until it's 100%...

In IL2's initial setting, that's only skinner's fault not this mod. we can't change the overlay position now. If someone can find a way to change it, IL2 will have more correct decal display.

If you didn't use it before, then default setting is clean cache. it can be added in [game] of conf.ini

OK then, i guess that's it - in any case we can switch the decals off on those defaults that make problems. Not a big deal.

Thanks!

Perfect setting just guarantee the texture light effect work correct, especially some alpha layer will have correct display, I add alpha layer and have some effect on it to make these decals have washed and scratched effect, Ati card should be no problem, I used it before my 8800GTS, in fact, Ati card always have better high light effect than Nvidia, more interesting than Nvidia's, if there are not driver fault, Ati has better graphic looking than Nvidia, you will find many prove from UBI IL2 forum. For example, the sea and snow texture at darker lighting time, Nvidia always have rings, looks like not in 32bit color, but in Ati, never have this problem.

How's this mod in comparison with IL-2 MAT Manager? Better or worse?

This mod aimed to replace ALL default one, now random AI numbers also have correct shine effect. IL2 MAT have more options for you, such as different number type, different national marking etc, but still use our old way, only mod thousands of mats, I moded about 6000mats and tire of this way, personal, I prefer this new easy way.

If someday, Someone find out how to control overlay position, then we will have more interesting decal display.
